X-Men to Return in “Days of Future Past” by Nathan Escobedo c/o 17

MILBY_In just three months, it is finally here. The X-Men are coming back.

Our new plot is from the best-selling comic story arc “Days of Future Past”. Our cast members are the one and only Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Michael Fassbender (Past Magneto), James McAvoy (Past Prof. X), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Patrick Stewart (Future Prof. X), Ian McKellen (Future Magneto), Anna Paquin (Rogue), Ellen Page (Kitty Pryde), Shawn Ashmore (Iceman), Halle Berry (Storm), Lucas Till (Havok), and Daniel Cudmore (Colossus).

Plus more untold actors/actresses playing various mutants and humans from the series that will aim to bring to life the rebooted sequel through the fan-favorite time-traveling story arc from the comic books (Uncanny X-Men #141-142 by Chris Claremont).

In the new trailer we see Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman. Also Kitty Pryde, Storm, Colossus, Old Magneto, Younger Magneto, Professor X (young and old), Mystique , Beast, Rouge, Iceman, Blink, Warpath, and last but not least Bishop. These are the few underground mutants. All we see in the trailer is Wolverine going back in time to save the world he now knows. He is going back to make sure that Senator Kelly never sees his day of death.

Only seeing a seven seconded trailer leaves you with numerous questions. Who sends Wolverine back in time? How did Professor X come back to life after his death in X-Men 3: The Last Stand? (Watch the movie if you do not know). Another thing is that this story is almost completely different from the 1980’s comic book story and the 1990’s version of the story that appeared on the Fox Kids animated series.

In the 1980’s comic book story arc, the story starts off in a future 2013. All of North America is mutant free and taken over by the Sentinels, corporate-produced, mutant-hunting robots. So they think. Most mutants are killed or are in concentration camps. Our remaining X-men are still living: Wolverine, Storm, Kitty Pryde (now known as Kate), Colossus, and Magneto. Also the mysterious telepathic Rachel and her husband Franklin Richards (Mr. Fantastic’s and Invisible Woman’s son now all grown up and married to his wife, who is the daughter of Cyclops and Madeline Pryor). Going forward, the mutants come up with one last plan: To send Kitty Pryde back in time to her younger body in order to convince the X-men from this happening ever again. Figuring out at the end of the comics that the mysterious Rachel ends up being the daughter of Cyclops and Jean Gray’s clone, Madeline Pryor.

In the end we don’t know how much of a difference there will be between the famous story and the upcoming movie. The only thing we can relate to based on the movie trailer is the comic itself. So, you tell me if the plot difference will be a bother to you. Or will you like the movie just because it is another Marvel classic? We’ll all find out if the X-Men will save the day again this summer!
