Life After Graduation by Jaclyn Dueñez c/o 14

MILBY_High school is meant to teach us not only about math or English but to also kind of give us an idea of what we would like to become prior to graduating. Throughout the four years of high school most students get an idea of what they would like become or do for the rest of their life.

Others are still unsure but that’s okay because you’re not alone. Who says we have to figure out what we want to be right now at this moment, we’re still only around the age of eighteen, we still have a long way to go. We have a long time to grow and learn some more.

After high school is the chance to get into college to further help you decide what you would like to do for the remaining years of your life. That’s the time to make mistakes and learn from them. Many of our great teachers probably changed their major four times throughout their college years. That’s because people wake up with a different mindset every day, we wake up with new goals we wish to achieve and new dreams we hope to live up to.

People change, things change every minute of every day. We are not born with a plan that we must follow, we make our own path in our own way. Therefore it’s perfectly fine to be uncertain of your future because like they say “tomorrow never comes”, we live life day by day and each day we are getting closer to figuring out what our plan is.

The time you walk across that stage is the time you truly begin to imagine the life you want and that day is the day you’ll begin to move forward towards that decision that only you can make. After all, we’re the ones who will live the life we choose.
