NFL Playoffs Update by Nathan Escobedo c/o 17

HOUSTON_This decides it all, through blood, sweat, and tears four teams have made it to the top. Now only two can go and the others go home. Our four teams are the Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, New England Patriots, and last but not least the Denver Broncos. Now the only thing I’m going to do is name their strengths and weaknesses.

The Denver Broncos have not won a Super Bowl ring since the late 1990’s (1998 and 1999) but many people think there will be a new age with the famous Peyton Manning on their side. He has been riding with the Broncos since August 26, 2012. With all his MVP trophies and the teams’ All-American background they’re bound to make it.

New England Patriots are three time Super Bowl champions 2001, 2003, and 2004 (when they won here in Houston). They have the most appearances in the Super Bowl, eight times in the last twenty five years. They also have three league championships too. So on January 19th, 2014 we will see if they will make their ninth appearance in the Super Bowl, or their last. Brady versus Manning should be some good TV this weekend.

The San Francisco 49ers have won five Super Bowls. Their first was in 1981 then 1984, 1988, 1989, and finally 1994. On the other hand, they have also won 5 NFC conference championships. So just by looking at their history we are going to have some great match ups.

Now for the Seattle Seahawks. In their whole thirty years of pro ball they have won zero Super Bowl rings which is kind of sad but no pity for them, since neither did the Oilers nor the Texans. They have made it this far so why stop now? I say prove you can do something and make a change in Super Bowl history. Now it is up to you who you want to follow. Seahawks, Broncos, Patriots, or the 49ers: the choice is yours.
