Forte & Vivace Update by Joel Briagas c/o 17

MILBY_I am a freshman who has just begun working with the Milby Forte and Vivace step team. Now I don’t know that much because I am new to it and I barely crossed over but I am really having fun doing it. But then there are certain things that you really have to do so you could handle it- like teamwork, maintaining a good attitude, which really means that you’ll go the extra mile. Also, we are having our probate and the girls are having their first competition on the 24th of this month.

First, when I was in there we had to do so much stuff that requires teamwork. There are some times when there are people that think they want to quit so you have to persuade them not to. Also there are like brothers and sisters within the club so we got to keep going and we have practice so everybody can do everything together. Then everyone looks after each other and makes sure that they have someone to go to ask for help or anything they need, because we are a “family”.

Then, there are times when there are people who get you mad and stuff but you got to know how to handle it. So remember when you think you’re going to join you really need a good attitude and you can’t get mad or take things too hard. Then there are people who really care for you and give you so much good attitude or they tell you stuff and it’s because they are pushing you so you could be really good. But if you are really sensitive then maybe this is not for you cause they really are going to be on you so you get the steps, grades, and stuff right and locked down.

Finally, if you really want to be on the step team then you really have to make a promise to yourself that you really want to go the extra mile. But there are days that you are down and don’t want to do anything but you got to be ready because you never know what is going to happen. Then in class you got to keep an 80 and above and it’s hard because you got step, and you got to go to work, and that at the same time you got classwork so you have to divide your time. But if you go the “extra mile” you are really going to feel different and you are going to be proud of yourself and everybody else who was there to help you out.

So if you want to join the step team remember these three things before you join, and if you can’t, then good luck. These three things are teamwork, good attitude, and the desire to go the extra mile.
