Everything Happens for a Reason by Jaclyn Dueñez c/o 14

HOUSTON_“Everything happens for a reason” is a saying we go through life hearing, but never question what that reason is and why. Understanding why things happen in life is something that can’t be studied or observed, but instead it’s something that is left to faith.

Religious people believe that God has a plan for you but I always wondered why things happen the way they do. God is good so why do we hurt? Why do we feel pain when we have someone so powerful watching over us? Why do bad things happen to good people? And why does evil continue to exist and appear all around us?

Life is a world full of adventures and opportunities that we can’t seem to be in control of. If it’s our life and we live it how we want to, then why don’t we always get what we want? Things have a funny way of working out but in the end we are supposed to believe that it is for the best. Like so many say, whatever happens is either a blessing from above or a lesson to be learned. I believe evil continues to exist in order to teach us right from wrong and whether we choose to the right thing or not is up to us and that is what defines us as human beings.

Life is about pushing your limits to see how far you’ll go and what you’ll do and learning to live life no matter what obstacles are thrown your way. I trust in the words of wisdom that God wouldn’t put anything in your life he didn’t’ think you could handle it or overcome it. We came into this world so innocent and pure just to learn that not everything is what it seems to be. Things won’t always be okay and that’s fine, because that’s what life is about. It’s about growing and learning from your mistakes and improving on what’s already good to make it better.

In this world is best to take advantage of and appreciate something when you have it because once its gone, it’ll be too late to gain that back. Like other people say: “don’t regret what once made you happy”. We live to die and that’s simply called life.
